Albany Park Theatre Project
Albany Park Theater Project is a multiethnic, youth theater ensemble that inspires people to envision a more just and beautiful world. APTP creates original theater that shares the real-life stories of urban teens, immigrants, and working-class Americans. The group engages youth as thoughtful and imaginative artists, humanizes issues that impact real people but too often get discussed as abstract concepts, and enriches the cultural vitality and quality of life in the Albany Park neighborhood and Chicago.

Black Ensemble Theatre
Black Ensemble Theatre’s educational outreach programs focus on low-income, underserved communities fostering more effective teaching and learning among our youth, their parents, their teachers, and the communities in which they live. Summer Training in the Technical Arts is a 12-week program designed to increase the employment capabilities of inner-city, low-income high school students, equipping them with skills that will enable them to have a career in the technical theater arena. Plays With A Purpose is a series of four interactive musical plays designed to teach elementary school children positive life lessons and values. Teachers are provided with workbooks and activities to reinforce the lessons taught in the plays.

The Illinois Theatre Association seeks to encourage a closer understanding and communication between community, education, and professional theatre. They promote the diverse extent of Illinois theatre and cooperate with various regional and national theatre organization. The organization is comprised of six divisions: including the Secondary School Theatre and the Theatre for Young Audiences. The Illinois High School Theatre Festival isProduced by the Illinois Theatre Association, the Illinois High School Theatre Festival (IHSTF) is the largest and oldest non-competitive high school theatre festival in the world.
