Apply for 2020-21 All-City Performing Arts

Students in grades 3–12 (or parents/guardians of students) at any CPS school—neighborhood, charter, contract, or options—may now apply to join the 2020-21 All-City Performing Arts Ensembles!

The ensembles offered for the 2020-21 school year are:

  • Symphonic Band I and II, (formerly Concert & Symphonic Bands), Grades 4–12
  • Percussion Ensemble, Grades 6–12
  • Jazz Band, Grades 4–12
  • Music & Media Production (formerly New Music), Grades 6–12
  • Orchestra, Grades 6–12
  • Choir, Grades 3–12
  • Elementary Modern Rock Band, Grades 5–8
  • High School Modern Rock Band, Grades 9–12
  • Mariachi, Grades 5–12
  • Dance, Grades 6–12
  • Theatre, Grades 6–12

Priority will be given to students who do not have access to in-school arts education at their home schools. Instruments and other materials will be distributed to students after enrollment is closed.

Students will be asked to submit a virtual audition video or set up an interview time for the ensemble(s) to which they apply. Ensemble directors will reach with the next steps upon completion of the application form.

IMPORTANT: Please make sure that you read the placement materials and experience guidelines for each ensemble before applying, and be sure to complete all portions of the application carefully.

The deadline for application is September 26, 2020. Students will be notified of their acceptance status on September 30, 2020.

Student Absence Reporting Form

All ACPA Students (or their parents/guardians) should report any absence through the Absence Reporting Form below, at least 24 hours before rehearsal (unless they have an emergency). Students who have more than three (3) unreported absences may be dismissed from their ensemble.
