This year, in light of citywide school closures, all classes in the CPS Advanced Arts Program were moved online so that CPS high school students across the district could continue to receive honors and dual-credit arts courses team-taught by expert CPS arts teachers and local teaching artists from outstanding Chicago arts institutions and organizations.
On May 27, 2021, the Advanced Arts Virtual Spring Showcase launched with a special streaming reception on YouTube and a dedicated website full of the hard work and creativity of the CPS high school students enrolled in the 2020-21 Advanced Arts Program.
We are so proud of our AAP students for their resilience, hard work, passion, and talent! We also extend our deepest thanks to the AAP teachers, teaching artists, and staff who have worked tirelessly to deliver an entire school year of creative, compassionate, and rigorous remote and hybrid arts learning experiences to our students.

About Advanced Arts
The Advanced Arts Program (AAP) is an off-campus high school arts program run by the CPS Department of Arts Education that provides CPS high school students with honors or dual-credit courses in the arts.
AAP students participate in fine arts, performing arts, and culinary arts courses team-taught by certified CPS arts teachers and professional teaching artists affiliated with Chicago’s most prestigious arts organizations and institutions. AAP also provides career guidance and intensive post-secondary planning. Many prestigious and top ranked colleges, universities, and conservatories recruit directly from AAP and award students generous scholarships, including full four-year awards.
