Hyde Park Art Center

The Hyde Park Art Center (HPAC) serves the Chicago area with visual art exhibitions and education programs. Since 1939, the Center’s mission has been to stimulate and sustain the vitality of the visual arts in Chicago. HPAC pursues arts mentorship within its community, fostering a collective spirit among artists, teachers, students, children, families, collectors, and the public. HPAC’s education programs demonstrate a commitment to the South Side, serving thousands of students participating in ceramics, painting, drawing, photography, and other visual art classes led by professional artists, both on-site and through community outreach. As one of the oldest alternative spaces in the city, HPAC has an exemplary record of exhibiting work by emerging artists through its Exhibitions Program.
