Facets Multimedia and the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival
For over 35 years, Facets Multi-Media has focused on developing innovative programs for children. Film critic Roger Ebert has called Facets’ children’s programs, “One of the great movie treasures of Chicago.” The American Academy of Pediatrics refers to the Chicago International Children Film Festival as “a jewel representing the very best in international children’s video, film and television programs.”

Free Spirit Media
Free Spirit Media provides education, access, and opportunity in media production to over 500 urban youth every year. FSM is advancing education and digital learning through their innovative program model. Hands-on and project-based media production opportunities with FSM are helping young people develop their authentic voice while actively learning about and addressing community issues.

Radio Arte
Radio Arte, 90.5 WRTE-FM, is a Latino-owned, bilingual, youth-driven public radio station that works to advance the voices of our multi-layered society. Radio Arte does this by promoting socially conscious journalism, providing media-literacy training; and creating programming that showcases music, issues, and events that are not featured prominently by mainstream media. The National Museum of Mexican Art (NMMA) acquired this Class D radio station in 1996 from the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago (BGCC), and has since supported the various initiatives that have catapulted Radio Arte into a national award winning institution.

Street Level Youth Media
Street-Level Youth Media offers free, year-round multimedia arts programming for students ages 8-22 in a safe and positive environment. The studio offers digital photography, audio and music production, video, and/or computer arts. Street-Level youth address community issues, access advanced communication technology, and gain inclusion in our information-based society.

YOUmedia is an innovative, 21st century teen learning space which is currently located at five Chicago Public Library locations. YOUmedia was created to connect young adults, books, media, mentors, and institutions throughout the city of Chicago in one dynamic space designed to inspire collaboration and creativity. Chicago Public Library librarians and Digital Youth Network mentors lead workshops to help students build skills and create digital projects that promote critical thinking, creativity and skill-building.
