True Star Foundation
True Star is a non profit multimedia organization that provides a creative outlet in the form of literary and professional development programs for youth. During after-school sessions instructors work with students on projects three days a week for approximately three hours. In summer sessions students are supervised on projects four to five days a week for four hours. As a whole, True Star mission is to inform, entertain and educate- and to serve as the voice of urban youth and the issues they face in our ever-changing world. True Star is unique in that it offers many paid internships.

Young Chicago Authors transforms the lives of young people by cultivating their voices through writing, publication, and performance education.  Young Chicago Authors offers free weekly programming, workshops and in-school residencies throughout the city of Chicago and Chicago land. This organization also runs the Louder Than A Bomb Youth Poetry Festival. LTAB is the largest youth poetry festival in the world, featuring over 100 zip codes within the Chicago-land area, giving youth a platform to share their stories.
