808s: Youth Empowerment Through Dance (in cooperation with Family Matters) The Mission of the 808s: Youth Empowerment thru Dance is to establish a safe refuge and a creative outlet for youth to express themselves and develop important life skills, centered on acting with integrity, being disciplined, and, through hard work, achieving worthwhile goals. 808s:YETD offers youth between the ages of 9 – 19 a refuge from the challenges that they face outside on the street. 808s provides the youth with a nurturing and supportive family, where they can experience positive interactions with colleagues and new friends.

Red Clay Dance lives to awaken “glocal” change through creating, performing and teaching African Diaspora inspired work–change that transforms social, cultural, and economic imbalances. The Red Clay Dance Youth Ensemble was created in 2010 to provide professional training and performance opportunities for teens that possess the passion and drive to pursue a career in dance. This ensemble is open to intermediate/advanced level dancers ages 14-18.
