Every year, CPS Arts Liaisons are asked to complete the Creative Schools Survey via Ingenuity’s artlook® portal. By providing and/or verifying information about arts education at their school, they contribute to the creation of a clear picture of arts instruction across the district.

Survey data is used to identify each school’s Creative Schools Category (from Incomplete Data to Excelling). This is listed on the school’s public-facing progress report card along with other indicators of academic performance.

By completing the survey, Arts Liaisons secure $1,000 in Arts Essentials funding for their school, to be spent on arts supplies and materials. In SY2020-21, Arts Essentials funds will be awarded on a weekly basis to schools that complete the survey.

Survey completion also makes schools eligible for competitive Creative Schools Fund grants of up to $10,000.

Completing the 2019-20 Survey

All active Arts Liaisons have received an email from artlookschools@ingenuity-inc.org that contains information for logging into and completing their school’s survey on artlook® portal.

Deadline for completion of the 2019-20 Survey is October 9, 2020.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the learning interruptions caused by COVID-19 during the 2019-20 school year, Creative Schools Category scores for SY 19-20 will not be released publicly. This in no way impacts this year’s survey or its importance. Creative Schools Fund and Arts Essentials grant disbursements will still be tied to survey completion, and Ingenuity and the CPS Department of Arts Education will continue to utilize the data to help develop professional learning, programs, and initiatives.

For more information on how survey data will be collected and reported differently this year, review this FAQ sheet.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to Ingenuity at artlookschools@ingenuity-inc.org if you have any questions or concerns about the survey.
