Chicago Jazz Philharmonic

The mission of the CJP's Jazz Alive program is to institute music learning at the beginning of a student's formal education, tracking them through elementary/middle school band programs that feed into continued involvement in music programs at the high school level. The program targets schools that have underserved or non-existing music programs and works closely with the school's Principal, teachers, parents and local school councils to establish a foundation for a sustainable music program that will benefit the school and its surrounding community in the long-term. In partnership with University of IL at Chicago, Chicago Jazz Philharmonic also runs a two-week intensive summer jazz camp for students grades 5 - 12.
