Zephyr Dance

Zephyr Dance is committed to making artistic excellence in dance accessible to diverse audiences. By working in the public school system, educating children at a young age to understand and appreciate dance, Zephyr is introducing the school community to a powerful art form. Zephyr demystifies the art of contemporary dance not only by teaching dance technique, but more importantly, by giving students a hands-on experience creating choreography through the Zephyr Model of arts integration. Creating puts the student inside dance, placing them in the role of maker, opening up their imagination and giving them new ways to approach curriculum. When students move outside the art form as observer, they then have the ability to understand and appreciate dance because of that creative experience.
